First, I will clarify a few things. I personally am not a proponent of abortion in general. However, I don’t believe I have a right to push that belief on others by force. I also don’t believe in enhancing trauma by forcing rape victims to carry their perpetrator’s seed to term. I am, however, a proponent of personal responsibility, which does not start after conception.

Now, what amazes me in all this bickering and infighting is while arguing who has a right to do what and when as it pertains to abortion, we have completely lost ourselves within the tenets of a culture governed by antinomianism.

No one is discussing how we have gotten to a point where so many pregnancies are unwanted, and to be clear, only 0.5 percent of abortions are attributed to rape (additionally, 3 percent are due to fetal health problems and 4 percent for physical health reasons).

We are fighting over the effect and ignoring the cause. We have cheapened physical intimacy in the most selfish of ways and now we are reaping the consequences.
