☕ Morning fam,
A lotta us are lost. disillusioned… and wandering aimlessly. Don’t have a clue and it shows. Nobody’s fooled. Lotta y’all talk a good game, but the reality is, everybody knows even the strongest, wealthiest and/or most successful negros (assuming they aren’t all the same) ain’t gonna bust a grape. They will perform and put on a show. They will show up and show out. They will go the extra mile to show white folks they are unbossed. And leap before they look. To the politically naive, this looks bold… and revolutionary. The politically astute see it for what it is, cosplay. Reenactment… of the Civil Rights Era… to keep us in victim mode and not reality mode… dwelling on problems and not seeking solutions… and looking backwards, not forward. And this time instead of Mike Brown, Deray McKesson and Shaun King… Ralph Yale, the Tennessee 2 and Andrew Lester’s grandson.
The show is like the beat, it goes on….
