☕ Morning fam,
I don’t know anyone optimistic about the future in St. Louis that isn’t on the city’s/NPIC’s payroll. The good will and changing of the guard people felt with the usherance of Black Girl Magic. Faces were different. Races were different. St. Louis sent a protester to Congress. Fast forward to today, St. Louis is the child murder capital, I lost count of how many young people lost their lives in the region last week alone. The city was exposed manipulating crime numbers in order to push a fake narrative that homicides are down, the latest L in a series of Ls for our ‘progressive’ mayor. The Workhouse still is not closed. Homelessness is worse. The EMT systems still have not been merged. People are still waiting on $500 checks. And instead of addressing these mounting losses, the mayor announces a reactionary ‘voluntary reparations’ program, except it isn’t reparations, do your research, check Yvette and Tone. Check out what’s happening in California. What is being proposed here, sounds good but it isn’t reparations, its a distraction, one of many Dems are pushing to lure people back into the party and take attention away from their failures… like marijuana.
Kim Gardner’s been quiet. Reality finally sank in, her investigator pled to a felony. Not a good look heading into her disciplinary hearing where she faces disbarment or suspension of her license. Her co-conspirator Josh Hawley? In the US Senate. Greitens? Running for US Senate. His Lt Governor? Now Governor. The McCloskeys? Heroes to the right. Her whole ‘progressive’ labeling? A costume, George Soros as a black woman. Kim Gardner didn’t get in the trouble she’s in fighting for us, she got in it doing Soros’ bidding: going after Greitens and pushing white radical policies as reform. She doesn’t care about black victims, not even children. St. Louis was named child murder capital under her tenure and not a blip. Nothing. From a woman that held a press conference for getting pulled over driving without headlights.
Cori Bush is the biggest disappointment, people had high hopes when she unseated Clay and those hopes quickly became a nightmare as blacks came to the realization that white progressives ran Cori Bush in order to gain control of a historically black seat. The black establishment didn’t see it coming, they are old, set in their ways and lack vision. They are unprepared for the issues St. Louis’ faces moving forward. They are stuck in a cycle of infighting, disfunction and fighting the same battles over and over and over and over again making thing worse. That’s how whiteness wins, it exploits the pettiness.
Cori Bush arrived to Congress wearing a Breonna Taylor mask, not Mike Brown and stood in solidarity with BLM, not the Ferguson Movement. Her first act upon returning to St. Louis wasn’t to call on Wesley Bell to reopen the investigation into the murder of Mike Brown, an investigation inoto Darren Seals or any of the other protesters that died under mysterious circumstances. But had no problem showing up for a photo opt to commemorate his death. And didn’t call on Wesley Bell then. Cori Bush has tweeted ‘trans lies matter’, but for black children getting gunned down in her district? Nada. Zero calls to protect young people feeling the impact of soft on crime policies, while spending hundreds of thousands on her own private security but that’s the worse, she dehumanized black mothers, herself included by referring to them a ‘breeding people’.
Ferguson showed what happens when your movement is co-opted. St. Louis is showing what happens when Black Girl Magic is co-opted, the consequences for devastating for black people. And the city as th population flees in droves.
