☕ Morning fam,
I’m all over the place right now working against time. Platform rollouts and launches are imminent starting with the news platform AltBlackNews (site & Roku channel) and stlhiphop (site & Roku channel). AltBlackRadio and stlhiphop Radio are already live and accessible through the sites, Alexa, Apple Music, Tune In and more.

I’m starting with AltBlackNews for obvious reasons, New Black Media is under attack, black voices that don’t walk the Dem Party line are being censored/de-platformed and of course, to inform.

And stlhiphop, to give youth in the St. Louis area an avenue for expression. I know the power of hip hop first hand. I’m a hip hop head. Hip hop changed my life. And not just me, you’ve seen it in action. Jay Z, Dre, Cube, 50 and so many others, hello? St. Louis and every city has artists, djs, graf artists, b-boys & b-girls and hip hop heads changed by hip hop culture. Note the culture, which encompasses waaaay more than rap music. It worked in St. Louis, stlhiphop and Dynasty Hip Hop Mentoring Program worked closely with teens, quite a few considered what they call ‘at risk’. We also collaborated with The Loop Underground Series and 12 to 6 Movement for Hip Hop 911: Stop the Violence at The Pageant in response to 10 youth getting shot in a shooting during the Christmas holiday season in 2010 to hold everyone, ourselves included, accountable for not only the safety of our young people, but opportunity and investment.

The event was attended by fans, victims’ families and state, county and city elected leaders. Artist involvement, performers & included Murphy Lee, Bradd Young, Aloha, G-Wiz, D2, Nite Owl, Kemo Vee, Kaos, Ruka Puff, County Brown, Midwest Avengers and more.

They said it couldn’t be done, that the artists wouldn’t come together, no one would support and no way we’re bringing 1500 young people to the Pageant without violence. Not only was there no violence, the young people of Dynasty Hip Hop Mentoring Program opened the show. Instead of building upon that success, leaders ignored the magnitude of the moment. That was in 2011. A decade later St. Louis is the child murder capital.

It’s on us to save them.

Like Derrty Ent, we all we got.
