One thing Trump winning the election did that I am grateful for is shattering the Dem coalition that linked being black with being a white feminist, being brown, being gay, being trans, an illegal and so on. None of those is like being black. Periodt.
The old negro guard made an epic mistake during the civil rights era falling for ‘coalition building’ with white liberals and allowing them to umbrella us in with groups we share no interests and forcing us to put our interests on the back burner to fight for some other group’s interests at the expense of our own. Then calling it a greater good and patting civil rights negros on the head, the way you’d pet an obedient child for a job well done.
That’s the Dem coalition building playbook and for decades negro leaders marched down this dead end path. The only change for black people was 1. substituting black women for black men, then calling it ‘black girl magic’. And 2. creating the gender war.
