☕ Morning fam,
Gotta talk about the region less than a week away from the 9 year anniversary of the Ferguson Uprising… things are worse, much worse. Worse than the conditions that prompted us to take to the streets. Black girl magic, progressive ‘reform’ and the imposition of woke policies worsened every issue we face and hastened the region’s decline.
There is a civil war taking place in regional politics, the old guard responsible for the conditions that prompted us to take to the streets vs the new guard responsible for making every issue we face worse. Don’t get me started on crime. Or corruption. Constituents see both as problematic and people, black and white are fleeing the region in droves.
I will say it again, there will be no change for the better with this crop of regional leaders. Change will require the feds, which are already here. Investigations of city and regional government have already resulted in plea deals from former President of the Board of Aldermen Lewis Reed, Alders Lewis Reed, Ald Jeffrey Boyd, Ald John Muhammad and County official Tony Weaver for corruption and fed time.
Change will also require a city and county admin. City and county governments have lost the trust of ‘we the people’. And we’re ready to turn the page. We shouldn’t have to take to the streets, collect signatures or wait til the next election. We gave them 9 years, they should have the decency to step down.
They don’t.
They will have to be removed.
