Bet you didn’t know … 😜
Which facts about the 2020 Red Bull BC World Champion were you surprised to hear about? 😆
B-Boy Shigekix (Nakari Shigeyuki) is a member of K.A.K.B. crew and discovered breaking at the age of seven through his older sister, B-Girl Ayane.
Before becoming a b-boy, Shigekix was a freestyle dancer inspired by music. Now, as a world-class b-boy, he has absorbed and developed his own unique style of breaking. He takes fast and incredibly controlled power moves, and mixes it with the sudden, on beat execution of solid freezes.
The competitions he’s joined and won include the 2016 1on1 Nothing2Looz World Final Kids battle, the 2016 Hustle and Freeze solo battle, and the 2016 Marseille Battle Pro 1on1 Kids battle. He also became one of the first breakers to win an Olympic medal, when he took home bronze at the 2018 Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires.
At the age of 15, Shigekix became the youngest b-boy in history to enter the Red Bull BC One World Final in 2018. In 2019, at just 17 years old, he became the newest member of the Red Bull BC One All Stars. In 2020, he became the youngest breaker to win the World Final. 🏆
