Rap Is Outta Control on Shade 45 (Sirius XM): DJ Rob Swift part 1

I’ve noticed a lot of posts saying “Black people stay home” regarding the crisis unfolding in LA this past weekend. This highlights the divide between some Black people and immigrants in this country. I want to clarify my words are not aimed at all Black folk. Furthermore, I lack sufficient information about the situation on the ground to claim that all protesters are exercising their right to resist ICE peacefully. It does seem a bit contradictory to wave a Mexican flag while burning the American one. Nevertheless, the selective outrage I observe among the acronym brigades regarding current immigration policies seems equally hypocritical.

Using social media to drive a wedge between two communities that have historically supported each other is concerning. I don’t recall any Latinos suggesting that Mexicans, South Americans, Central Americans, or others should “stay home” during the George Floyd protests.

The Civil Rights Movement of the 1960s was powerful due to its diversity. The people marching weren’t just Black individuals, and they collectively chose not to “stay home.”
