January 17, 2025 is the 56th anniversary of the murders of John Huggins and Bunchy Carter, members of the Southern California Chapter of the Black Panther Party, on the campus of UCLA. Talibah Shakir, a member of the BPP under the leadership of Bunchy and John in Los Angeles, will share her remembrance of what it was like to Serve The People during that time.
Talibah Shakir is a Muslim, an educator and a community activist in Los Angeles, California.
